Autumn Commute
As part of an iterative design process, the interaction of nature with humans served as inspiration for this project. Local sound barriers along the I-5 corridor being reclaimed by vines were observed and transformed into a grey woolen template with delicate embroidery.
A leaf study was performed in Illustrator, and multiple thumbnails created in Procreate to explore the silhouette.
Multiple embroidery styles were digitized in Embird and considered, with an airy, sketchy style being decided on to keep the fabric lightweight and flexible.
Two potential pathways were identified and tech flats created, with the first being chosen due to considerations of sustainability and the ease of altering the garment for future wear.
Embroidery sample was created and applied to draped base fabric. Mock-ups were created in Photoshop to ensure patterns matched.
Bauhaus 2025
Inspired by the posters and architecture created from the Bauhaus school, a color palette that evokes a vintage feeling was created and applied to existing products.
Tech flats and logo created in Adobe Illustrator. Shapes from posters and architecture were incorporated into both the logo and the backing design for the shoe and the cropped shirt.
Enchanted Spring
Inspiration: As part of an AI research project studying the impact AI can have on the design process, multiple prompts were crafted and the results combined to create a mood board inspiring the line.
A limited color palette was chosen, and four repeating patterns were created using only this palette.
Technical flats were created in Adobe Illustrator, and the patterns were applied to one design each.
Garment mock-ups were then created through Adobe Photoshop to show how the garment might look.
Coastal Waves
Inspired by the strength of the waves on the Oregon coast and their interactions with the dark rock outcrops.
Thumbnails were created to explore ways of displaying the waves on a charcoal background to represent the coast. Design concepts were applied to create a pattern of unique contrasting embroidery.
